Hi Pam,
You have me interested in getting to know more about dog therapy. How did you get your Pyrs started in therapy? How long does your Dusty have in traning before he can be a therapy dog, and is the therapy training courses different, and certified diffrently than obedience courses , or inconjunction with obedience courses? Personality type ...does the Pyr in training have to present a more passive demeanor? And does the therapy training detract from the gaurding abilities. Are more people able to get into your personal space (at home) with a passive acceptance from the therapy trained Pyrs . . ." More docile and less of a guard dog". I think it's neat that your Pyrs have participated in dog therapy ... I know it helps the elderly cope a great deal. *Smiles* Merri, Emmett & Melvin Spokane, Wa > ** Original Subject: [pyrnet] Re: pyrnet-l-digest.20010604 > ** Original Sender: Pyralive@aol.com > ** Original Date: Tue, 5 Jun 2001 04:58:29 -0700 > ** Original Message follows... > > In a message dated 6/5/2001 12:03:52 AM Eastern Daylight Time, > pyrnet-l-owner@pyrnet.org writes: > > > > What are your Pyrs' names? > > > > Regards. > > > > Neema > > > > Good Morning, Neema > > I am "owned by " > Susie--81/2 years old (ruler of the "roost"--You know these "bitches") < > BG> > An"d"--3 1/2 years old (registered Therapy Dog, and, a "big ham"-he is > certain that the world only exsists to admire Him !) > > Dusty---8 1/2 months old (just finished "basic opbedience--took 1st place--a > future > Therapy dog--more obedience courses to follow before His "career" starts) > Have a great day > Pamc >** --------- End Original Message ----------- ** > |
