I meant to add what I do to my first post, sorry....

I use the "out" command....

As funny as it was, it also seemed like something I should correct, so I'd 
tell him to quit it  (he'll also walk away, (very indignantly, of course,) 
with "no").
Need reinforcement from a distance?  Mine hates a squirt gun...just have to 
show it to him now, don't even need water in it...

Oh, I was cracking up before I even got to the words "in front", I just knew
you were gonna say TV by the way you said "insists on standing directly..."

Denali does this, not every time you turn on the TV, though.. and he will
move, he just 'pauses' for a very long time...

And the clicker won't work, because his big butt is right in front of the
receiver thing...
