This is true too, Cindy. However, when the hurricane came in here in South
Carolina the other year, many people were afraid to take their animals
because the shelters (people variety) would not permit people to bring
their animals in with them. So what do you do -- leave your dog or cat in
a hot car (although we had rain, it was hot and muggy), not go to a shelter
and hope to find accommodation some where else? I'm not condoning their
actions, but often the "authorities" don't make it easy for people with
pets, especially BIG pets.
