Hi all, I'm cross posting this info so I can get the word out.
Lifetime
(Television For Woman) channel took a big gamble in filming the
Ladies
Kennel Association of America show in May. They would now like to
get the
word out to as many NON-Dog show folk as possible. High rating
will ensure
their continued support of local dog shows. If they get good
ratings it will
translate into more interest in televising of our shows. I know
they don't
get it right all the time but if we don't get more positive
exposure we will
be stuck with news programs about biting dog, banning dogs, or
just the
Garden and the occasional broadcast on Animal Planet.

So tell your NON dog friends to get the kids and watch the
broadcast or just
tape it but have those stations tuned to LIFETIME Channel this
Friday.....

Ladies Kennel Association Dog Show LIFETIME Television Friday,
June 15 at
7pm ET/PT (encore presentation Saturday June 16, 11am ET/PT)

LKAA is a 101 year-old club, and its members are all women. The
club was
originally organized as a sister club to Westminster KC (they
wouldn't let
women in, so we formed our own <vbg>), and our AKC Delegate was
the one who
proposed that women be allowed into the Delegate body (shocking!
<g>).  The
show is held on the "Gold Coast" of Long Island at the beautiful
Planting
Fields Arboretum, a State Historic Park, and we were fortunate to
have a
beautiful day to serve as a backdrop.

We work very hard to put on an elegant show that is pleasant and
fun for
dogs, exhibitors, judges and spectators.  I hope that comes
across in the
broadcast.  I'm looking forward to hearing the commentary by
Showdogs-l
Listmatie David Frei, seeing a little of the Junior Showmanship
competition,
and re-living a great day - but this time without all the stress!
