[pyrnet] Tara
> How long had you fostered Tara?
>
We picked up Tara on March 25. When we first got her and Jarod, the male
that we got at the same time, both were good dogs, but shy. Tara, in
particular, was a bit of a scally-wag, and it wasn't hard to see that
someone had been abusive when correcting her. All you had to do was raise
your hand or voice, or move quickly in her direction, and she was cowering.
If she ran away from you, the only way we found of getting her back was to
fall down and pretend to be hurt. She would then immediately come up to
see what was wrong.
However, by working quietly with her, she, and Jarod, soon got over their
nervousness. Jarod was placed on May 10. The family wanted to take Tara
too, but had already made a commitment for a Newf puppy. They felt that
they should stick by their original commitment, and this was fine. Tara
would be better suited to a farm environment, than a house environment.
Jarod, on the other hand, was the ultimate couch potato.
