Re: [pyrnet]Guarding styles

Linda, I think what you said is basically what I said. I think the
females are more focused on the job at hand, because females have to be,
period! Males are rather fickle creatures. Like lions, the guys have
the weight and the power and the testosterone, but basically they are
lazy and don't do the job nearly as efficiently as the females. I think
guarding closer to hand may be more efficient than running out helter
skelter to bluff and blow, although all animals tend to display and
bluff!
That's why I said I would think that working both sexes
( both altered) may be the most ideal. However I was was just guessing
in a general sort of way since I don't use my gang in a working capacity.
 Watching mine "Play
guardian" they work as a well oiled team against the chosen "bad guy" of
the moment. They relay speed runners to conserve energy at the chase,
they all attack a different spot to bring the predator down. Of course
they all get up, and chose the next guy to be predator! :-) If they are
guarding something in particular I have noticed one of my females holds
back against the object
( reminds me of a goal keeper ). These are the things I have observed.
