<<As far as my Pyrs go, Bo will bark and bark and posture at dogs walking by or
strays running passed the yard, Chel hangs a little back and if
they dare come up to the fence, she lunges, teeth bared, quiet as
a mouse except for the ominous rumble deep in her chest. She
means business, no ifs ands or buts.>>
It's interesting to watch Anais (Pyr) & Ciaran (IW).
Normally, Ciaran sleeps & Anais periodically issues warning barks & growls.
Occasionally, however, when Anais os at the back of the house & Ciaran hears someone at the front door that she hasn't heard. He lets out a loud, deep bark or two toward the door, then if he doesn't see Anais beside him, he turns and barking wildly, goes looking for her. She comes immediately and runs past him and takes over. He stays a few feet behind, still barking and "backs her up."
He also refuses to go out to pee at night unless Anais or I go with him. If he finds himself alone he just comes back to the door and barks for her to join him. She seems to stand guard while he pees. It seems to make him feel much safer <G>.
