re: [pyrnet] Close call
Good to hear Anais came out of the adventure okay. Emmett would dart out of the house as soon as he could. Jeff our youngest would leave the front door wide open at times, and off Emmett would go. Even though he has a microchip we still worried.
Thank you both! I wanted to get Anais microchipped but the event was cancelled due to lack of interest. My vet still won't do it. I think that I will find one who will if I can't convince her. Anais is tattooed on the inside of her leg, but I don't know who would ever find it. I just looked and found it, but you really have to move the hair out of the way to see it, and if you don't know it's there, why would you? She was fighting being held when it was done at 5 months old and it's less than perfect (although the woman who did it is very good and you can still read it I think.) She has a break-away collar with her phone# & tags, but I guess it "broke away" because it was found in the driveway. It was my compromise between worrying about getting out with no collar and getting collar caught & getting strangled, but it really comes off almost if a breeze hits it.
So it's time to shop for another collar (maybe a martingale? would be a better compromise) and work on getting her microchipped. And if we all make it to the new house, there are going to be gates everywhere! <G> And I guess we can always hope that they'll get more responsible (huh,Barb?)
