Re: [pyrnet] HEALTH; Hair Loss

Sissy, did you ever get an answer to you coat/skin question? Under
normal conditions I would say no, probably not, but I bet that it does
occur. When we found Gulliver he had the shortest coat I've seen on a
Pyr. We put it down to blowing his coat at the same time he was left to
die in the gravel pit. If it was 110 degrees everywhere else in Texas, I
can't imagine what it would be like on that Kalichi rock in a basin.

I know that your fur-kid has not had to endure such extreme conditions,
but I think it is possible that he might be shedding down that bare in
parts. Of course there could be some physical reason ( internal perhaps,
thyroid, things like that ), which is why it is good for you to check
with the Vet. But I think it may be possible that he could shed out
pretty thin in parts. May not be real common, but it could be. Your
best bet is probably a good check up for him, but I am guessing it will
be nothing earth shaking.

In going back over my mail deleating I didn't see where anyone wrote, so
I thought I would say something. Cindy
