Maybe the corn oil would make a good oil sealer for the wood?  Pour more of
it on the floor and let them cover it all then add a good sealant.  If that
corn oil sat on a fresh wood floor, no doubt it had lots of time to soak in.
Check with Home Depot perhaps?
