Re: [pyrnet] Bear's hair
To answer the the previous question, the coat should grow back eventually.
About the spots, the skin can be spotted....one indicator of good
pigment....and when they're shaved (unfortunately Cotton had to be shaved
last summer) the markings do tend to appear darker, I guess because they're
not blended in with the white coat then.
Normally in full coat, though, markings tend to fade with time although some
dogs fade more than others.
Cotton looked really funny. She had a hot spot and when Jen (co-owner) took
her to the vet, we discovered she had tiny ones all over her, it was
suggested by our vet to shave her and use a mild bleach solution to wash
them with everyday along with vitamin shots, etc. and antibiotics.
We tried to blend the fur from her head, face and legs to the rest but she
still had little booties and someone actually asked if she was a Poodle!
Cotton just looked at them like "Oh please!!!!".
