RE: [pyrnet] Thunder Fear
I will look for Rescue Remedy! Is it made specifically for dogs?

My Pyr shep is afraid of thunder. Terribly afraid. Pants,
hyperventilates, etc. I tell her she's being silly, do a little
T-Touch. Used to tranquilize her. Now, I just put Rescue Remedy
(found in health food stores) in her food every night, and give
her an extra 4 drops in her mouth if a storm comes through. And
she is MUCH better about storms. It had previously gotten so bad,
that she would start to panic if we even had a big drop in
barometric pressure!! Now she will even go out, and stay out a
bit, if it's drizzling. (previously unheard of for her!) So, I'd
try some Rescue Remedy, along with some behavior modification.
Just be sure you do not inadvertently re-inforce her fear by
telling her it's OK.
