Re: [pyrnet] Chickens (was: Getting a Pyr to Eat)

Hi Mary,

I do miss Pooh, but it just wasn't working out.  They didn't know much about these two dogs, as their master had passed away.  But now at least Gretta has some background on her.  She is a gorgeous dog, a gentle giant.  She looks like a polar bear, with thick coarse hair.  The one I kept is smaller and has finer hair.

Poor Winnie though, this morning I went out to her kennel and all the chickens were in it.  The side door to the chicken coop is through her kennel, and I must not have shut it firmly.  All 30 some chickens were everywhere.  They ate her dog food, they were on her beds, etc...  But she was great, she just took it in stride.  But she was happy when I evicted the chickens to the goat pasture.

Good luck with your chickens.

Hi Heidi,

Thanks for the info about how your Winnie Bear is with the chickens.  Things are settling down slowly here and it's good to hear that it takes a while.  Sorry to hear that Pooh Bear didn't work out.  I hope they find the right home for him.

Mary
