We don't have enough information to be very critical of this breeder (we are making a lot of inferences from very limited information presented to us).  I for one think they are being very responsible (at this point of knowledge), especially compared with what usually happens from a lot of working breeders.  It is impossible to educate owners of ever situation and occurrence.  Doing this is very difficult, so maybe we could lighten up a bit since most who may criticize do not walk in their shoes at all.  We could all take advice from different sources and hindsight is always much better.  The real world is the ultimate protector outcome is death to the dog (s) and we have to always be prepared for same should it occur.  The breed has been doing this for as long as maybe 5000 years, so this is certainly not something new or unexpected.
