[pyrnet] Chat: Pet Therapy/ Reading Dogs

Hi all, 
You have been warned ~~If You believe in anything, believe in this ~~~  Pet Therapy Work IS adictive !
An"D" and I made our regular visitation/tutoring session to Lake Forrest Elementary today. After  the  2 children  read the story to Myself and  AN"D", we walked back to their classroom~ (Yes, AN"D" did allow Me to accompany Him ) :)
We were invited in by the teacher, all children took turns , one by one, to approach, pet, love on, ect...The dog ~~Then, the children had to return to their seats while I answered questions~( that didn't last long, the children couldn't stand it)~by the end of 5 minutes, An"D" was laying in the middle of the classroom, 5 children at the front, 5 children at the back, 1 child at His head , and 1 child at His tail~~
There was 1 little girl, very quiet, very shy, that kept watching:  An"D"'s eyes "locked" with Hers~~He raised His head as she lay down on the floor in front of Him ~~He never "broke" His gaze, and within the first minute, had His head in Her lap, and 1 paw across Her leg~~She just stared, never moved, never smiled, never said a word    just looked, small pats,   ect  ...An"D" 's eyes never left Her face, even with all of the other children scattered around Him ~~~
As I was getting ready to leave, the Teacher told Me that this particular little girl had just lost Her Mother about 2 weeks back, had been particularly verbose and belligerant since then, that this was the quietest, the most well behaved that She had been since the tragedy~~We asked Her if She would like to walk with AN"D" back to My Van,We got the first smile from Her in 2 weeks~
Yep !  I guess  " I'm Hooked!"   The people that We visit have always Thanked Me~~Truth be told, I'm the one that is getting most of the benefit~~~~~~where else could I see "small miracles"?
BTW : An"D" is walking around the house now with His nose 4 feet off the ground, and I'm worried !  The weatherman forecasts rain today !  :)
