RE: [pyrnet] "Blowing Coat"

My 1 1/2 year old male, Czar, started losing his coat about 3 weeks ago, but
he is not losing it in clumps like my Alaskan Malamute. (This is Wisconsin
weather) I am brushing him daily, (sometimes several times)especially along
his rear, pants and tail, as this is where most of it is loose. He decided
to try and dig to China on Saturday, and hence he received a rinsing with
the hose, which he loves, and this also loosened up the hair considerably.
I do save the wool and set throughout the pine trees on our rural property,
as the birds use this and the malamute wool for their nests; especially the
bluebirds. My Malamute is blowing her coat like crazy and should be bare in
about a week; as she does lose her hair in clumps.

Subject: [pyrnet] "Blowing Coat"

I've heard many stories about what prolific shedders Pyrs are. Entering my
first spring as a Pyr owner, I'm wondering: when can I expect the blizzard
to begin? I'm in Dickson, TN, about 40 miles west of Nashville. We've had
a few days in the 80's so far, but the real heat of the Tennessee summer
shouldn't settle in for another month or so. Just curious.

Thanks,
