Re: [pyrnet] WRAPS FOR HORSE LEGS

Title: Re: [pyrnet]  WRAPS FOR HORSE LEGS
Awesome!!!  Thanks a bunch..  I will hit Flying J Tomorrow.  We are here in Wa. State and run around the Cascades and Olympics a lot.  I think my "boy" will be sporting a complete set of 4 since he seems to do more damage to his front dew claws than the back ones lately.
Now I can't wait to try them out.

Thanks again,
Christy

Christy, very good "hit me" Try this and you'll flip at how good this works:
I take lots of pack trips with my Pyrs in the Rockies, and at higher altitute, their are a lot of loose rocks and talus. So I bought some of those neoprene, zip-up beer bottle coozys (know what Im talking about?) I found at a Flying-J truck stop on my way home from a trip. I cut off the bottom and replace the silly zipper pull ring with a small piece of accessory cord from a climbing shop. I zip them onto their back feet only (although you could certainly do the front) and I face the zipper part to the dog's rear. They were too tight at first (annoying to the dog, not cutting off circulation), so I stretched them out a bit on the top (neck of the bottle part) by heating them in hot water and stretching them over the larger part of the bottle. They fit snug from below the h! eel pad, covering the double dews and all- leaving the paw free. They look very cool on the trail and people get a kick out of the silly phrases and beer ads the dogs wear on their feet. I buy four every time I pass that Flying-J. I had a friend who makes paddling/kayak stuff make some fitted ones and they are awesome. The neoprine stays snug, padded and comfortably protects the dews. Im thinking about making up some more. Try this out and let me know how it goes.
