Re: [pyrnet] new puppy
Hi,
When I say Seejay is 95% housbroken I mean that he has an occasional pee-pee accident in the house. Usually when I wait a bit too long to get him outside. Thankfully, he's not much of a nipper-unless my son is running around and Seejay decides it's time to play with him. He's starting to really chew on stuff now as he is losing some teeth but that's par for the course, I guess. He is the sweetest, most well tempered dog I've ever had. Everywhere I go people are stopping and commenting on how beautiful and sweet he is. What are you feeding? I switched from the Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy because he wasn't eating it to Wellness. He eats that like a champ and is now about 38 lb. We are getting him neutered probably mid-July. We're in our 5th week of puppy school at Petsmart and it's really helpful.
It's nice to be able to talk with someone who has a baby pyr! I've heard that sticking a rope toy in their mouth when they start nipping helps to direct their mouthiness to appropriate things. How is he with burshing? That's when I get it the worst from Seejay. He's forever got his mouth on my arm then! I started filling up a Kong with treats and cream cheese and holding it between my legs while I'm brushing him and it keeps him distracted. Oh, the things we do for our dogs!
Take care!
