Re: [pyrnet] New member

Hi,
My boy Chase, who is a golden, had a tumor/growth on his eyelid since he was about 2.  It slowly got bigger and bigger.  The "city" vet that I was seeing told me not to worry about it.  I moved to the country and noticed that the growth had changed in shape.  It wasn't roundish but a little jagged.  My country vet told me we should take it off.  Unfortunately, the growth was cancerous and had been for some time.  The good news is that, according to the lab results, the doctor was able to get all of the cancer out.  I still walk on pins and needles with him, but I thank God that he's still with me.  Hope this helps!

Hi. I am new to this group and have been enjoying reading all of the emails of the last few days, but decided not to join in until today, I have a question about growths on eye lids. I am sure most queries have already surfaced at least once before but here goes with this one: My 9 year old Pyr Toby has had this small growth probably getting bigger over at least two years, twice mentioned at the vets we determined that it wasn't giving  aggravation or problem to his cornea etc. Just this week we notice that there is another little extra part that has grown, now I am worried that it might have to be taken off, my reluctance is more about his age and the anaesthetic effect. He has been a very healthy boy all of his nine years, most visits to the vets have been for shots up to this point. His litter brother, a show dog, had one removed about a year ago for asthetic reasons and I believe that they take as much from under the growth  as you can see above. I hate to put him through the whole surgery thing but I probably know what's the best thing to do but would be interested to hear of others experiences with these growths. Thank you.
