Subject: [pyrnet] shedding

Hello

Just wondering if this is normal. My 4 month old puppy Dilbert is now shedding, what I assume to be his puppy coat. As the new one coming in is much softer and longer. What I am worried about is sooo much of it is shedding. I mean hand fulls of it. and It seems like there is more coming of than growing in. Will it just take time for his adult coat to come in, and for him to be the fluff ball he used to be? Or am I right to be concerned and take him to the vet ASAP. He does have  fur all over, he doesn't have any bald spots or anything, he just doesn't have the coat that he used to. Funny that his head is still as fluffy as ever just his body is not.  My husband says not to worry that his adult coat will grow in. But I have just never seen this type of shedding before.

Thanks

Lots of brushing.  Some spinners make yarn from the prys because there is so much and actually it is nice yarn. I have even seen the hair on sale on Ebay....  I once read just get use to a fine white layer all over everything.  He is probably fine... this is the time of year to shed.  If he starts to scratch alot, or the skin is irratated looking, or the clumps are uneven patches then you might want to look for an external parsite.
