RE: [pyrnet] Care, Behavior: Sudden problem with certain flooring

We have wood floors and tile, so I have area rugs, runners and remnants all
over the place so my Alaskan Malamute, Raisa, who has hip dysplasia and
Adissons Disease, does not slip on the floor. She moves gracefully from rug
to rug and steps very gentle. My Pyr, doesn't have any problems, but he has
good hips and is very healthy.

I have Pergo in my kithen- quite slippery. When my girl got older she
seemed to slip a lot so I got an inexpensive carpet remnant and cut it to
fit the kitchen. Solved the problem.

Are you sure Gypsy did not slip and fall and hurt herself? Has she been
showing any signs of orthopedic problems?

I personally would get Gypsy to the vet for a complete work up, Blood Work,
Complete Thyroid Panel sent to Michigan State. A neuro exam if your vet can
do that and a thorough eye exam.

In the meantime, Stores like Walmart carry long rug runners in 5 or 6 ft

lengths. Try those. I use them around here for dirt and mud catchers. Also
used them when my dear old Mishka became so frail. I have tile and wood
floors in most of the house and if Mishka was down, she could not get up
from a slick surface. Those rugs provided the traction

she needed. Let us know how things go.
