Wool has all those properties you are looking for...........year round, comfy, warm/cool, water resistant and washable. It is also fire retardant. Know any one with sheep? I have made mattes for my animals by crocheting rovings and dog beds stuff with wool. Let me know if you would like more info. Karen Sigler Benjamin Farms, Utah
