RE: [pyrnet] Flea treatment question

Comfortis (a relatively new once monthly oral medication for fleas) has done the trick for us. I live in the South and Frontline does not begin to deal with the flea problem. Belle has been on Comfortis for about a year now. No fleas. No side effects. We love it.

When we lived in New Orleans in the summer the vet there said that the fleas never die because of the heat and that Frontline would NOT work on them.  I had been using Frontline and my dogs got bitten by fleas, even though they didn't live on the dogs they were miserable with bites.  The vet prescribed some pill they took and I used Advantage or Advanatix or something.  I may be wrong but close but I know it was an oral treatment and a topical at the same time.  I remember it was so hot and the fleas didn't live just in grass, they lived in the cement!!  Good luck.
