Re: [pyrnet] Bandanas?

I have never had a female Pyr but Arizona does sound like "big girl." :)  Kodiak weighs 130 and has a huge "mane." So, yes, the 27 x 27 are snug.  One of our neighbors has two mastiffs and while she does not necessarily make her own bandanas (or sew), she buys squares of the bandana (dense, cotton-like) fabric at the fabric store. Her dogs always have cute (table cloth-sized bandanas). A few years ago she gave me a 54 X 54 size bandana for my last Pyr (a 120 pound male) that sort of matched his collar. It was kind of a Native American print with blue, purple, yellow and green and while the edges were not sewn; the bandana never frayed or got shabby. Hmmm...I wonder if she sealed the edges with a fabric glue. Anyway, it looked great on him. Unfortunately Kodiak cannot wear bandanas and he will almost hurt himself trying to get it off.

The reason I like craft and fabric stores is mainly for the variety. Be sure to let us know if you find someone who makes them for large animal dogs.

I've tried the human ones and they're too snug. Arizona is a BIG girl. She weighed in at 133 lbs at her last vet visit, and I think she's heavier now. A LONG way from the scrawny, hairless 65 lb waif that showed up on my farm years ago.

Kodiak could wear the 22 x 22 when he was little and now the 27 x 27  fit him (sort of) a little better.

Judith is right however. They are big time less expensive at a hobby/craft store.

Here is an example of the 27's

The Hobby and Craft Stores usually have a large selection of human
bandanas, they do fit our pyrs.
