[pyrnet] Aargh! My Pyr is BALD :(

I took Kodiak to a (new) groomer to brush out his winter coat, clip his dews, remove a mat behind each ear and trim the fur under on his belly. I could see about an inch (or so) of pure white fur underneath. He ended up with a "summer cut." He barely has 1/8th of a coat.  He was an unhappy Pyr when I picked him up: He walked up to me and buried his muzzle between my legs and sat like a normal person in the passenger seat duriong the drive home. He loves the car but he is never like that.

Without getting into how mad at myslef I am along with how furious I am at the groomer, I have a few questions:

Any idea how long it will take to grow his coat back? He's an outdoor dog and summer (90 - 100 temperatures) is three months away.

How vulnerable is he to the sun? He is in the house normal be this time, but still.

Just how vulnerable is he to the elements?

We get spontaneous rains quite often and then right after it is very sunny - along with humidity and mosquitoes.

Right now the temps are in the 70's and the humidity is low (23%) but it is usually in the 70's.

He has no fleas and he is up to date on all his shots & his monthly heart worm.

Thanks

Christine/Kodiak
