Frontline Plus is the stuff to use. It is fantastic in that it kills the larvae, and the adult fleas. Each application can last for up to three months. The fleas will be attracted to the dogs so that is the way I would recommend. You can purchase from Canada at a really good price, or just go to Costco.

Hi all,

Have my boy for 7 years now, and this is the first time he's got em. You
see, we brought home a rescue berneese mix that had em, which we didn't
quite catch soon enough.

I've done a lot already to treat both, the house, car, and shop. it looks
like we may be starting to win the battle.. My question to you all is if you
had any experience with working with the thick coats of the pyr to locate
these little buggers. What type of flea comb did you find worked best?

Thanks,

Brendan, Polar, and Molly

I use Comfortiss. Will knock those little buffers dead within a few hours.
Prescription. Need to get thru your vet. Be sure you give it with food or
the dog will puke.

Kodi & Sugar are outdoor dogs so I use Vectra-3D (fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice, mites and sand flies). Either way, you might want to consider a Capstar in addition to whatever topical you choose.

I have had very good luck with both. My experience is that the Capstar truly does work rapidly and just about takes care of the immediate problem.

I get the Capstar from the vet and only noticed just now it is available OTC

HI - I had a heck of a time with fleas a couple of summers ago. In addition to taking care of fleas on the dog you have to treat his/her entire enrivonment. I had to restort to a pyrethrin mixture for the outdoor areas in which he lays (builds nests, really!) and I used boric acid inside - which worked for me because I have no small kids and I had no skin reaction to the product. I think what really helped was getting the boric acid into the carpet and folds of the chairs and sofa.

Good luck,

Laurie & Bacchus
