Not in the slightest. I'm actually -very- glad to see that Real World data
is being used. That means we can (relatively) easily convert over stuff that
isn't covered - and gives a pretty good feel for how things worked. I'd like
to see more like this.

No such thing as overkill. :)

Ah, yes, the Maus. Heh. A marvel of German design and technical engineering,
and of the concept that bigger is better. It was one of the German
'supertank' designs. It was a development of another contemporary
super-tank, the 'Lowe', or 'Lion', which never made it to prototype. There
was never production of the Maus, only about two and a half prototypes. It's
rumored that one saw combat defending against the Soviets, but that's never
been satisfactorily confirmed.

I would go into techspecs, but...Aw, John, you beat me to it. :)

Sooo...I'll go into the next Allied Nightmare...the P 1000.

Weighing 900,000 to 1,000,000 kilograms (that's around 990 to 1100 English
tons), it's 35 m (115 f) long, 14 m (46 f) wide, and and 11 m (36 f) high.
It was planned to have either two 8500hp MAN Diesels, or eight 2000ho
Daimler-Benz Deisels, both marine designs. Triple tracks on each side, 3.6m
(12f) wide would carry it at an estimated 40 km/h (25 mph). It would have
had essentially a heavy cruiser turret on top, with 2 x 280mm SK.C/34 L/54.4
(same guns as on the Scharnhorst and Gniesenau), 1 x 128mm Kanone, 8 x 20mm
Flak 38, and 2 x 15mm Mauser MG 151/15.

Yes, this was really planned. There's some arguement about how much it would
have weighed, from those dimensions, and some issues with ground friction
(super-heavy tanks might be articulated so they can turn).
