Also a very good one is 'Hell is for Heroes' (starring Steve McQueen and
Fess Parker). It was remade (kind of) by HBO a couple of years ago with the
new title 'When Trumpets Fade' with Ron Eldard (of ER) taking up the McQueen
role. It was equally as good, but in a slightly different way (and tone).

Also, 'Stalingrad' (a German production) is very good, but hard to watch.

No one has mentioned the most entertaining WWII movie of all time: Kelly's
Heroes. Total fantasy, but worth the renatl fee.
