Hello,

Im new to the list. But I might have some titles of Books that might help
you,and some others.

None of these are really, novels though some read like novels. Please bear
with me,these are all about Germany.Gotta get my others outta storage.

Heres my list:

Kommando:German Special Forces of WWII By:James Lucas

Excellent book, great for the history of German Spec-Ops.Perfect place for
some of those nasties, that pinnacle will toss in.James Lucas books are an
excellent read, written by an English Soldier of WWII.James Lucas is one of
the most prolific, and well written authors of German specialist troops.

Storming Eagles:German Airborne Forces of WWII By:James Lucas

Another great book by James Lucas.Includes a chapter on the 500th SS Para
Battalion,an interesting SS unit,that specialized in anti-resistance
tactics. If the SS has werewolf troops this would probably be one of the main
units.

Division during the war.Great for background on the German divisions
day-to-day life.

Great book for the History of German Secret Weapons. Some of which
manufactured in quantity could have turned the tide of the war.

Hitlers Spanish Legion:The Blue Division in Russia
By:Gerald R. Kleinfeld and Lewis A. Tambs

Interesting history of one Spanish infantry division that fought for the
Germans during WWII.This unit was under the auspices of the Wermacht and not
the SS.The division fought at the siege of Stalingrad where it was
decimated.

SS Werwolf-Combat Instruction Manual
Translated by:LT.Michael C. Fagnon

The book that created the Wewolf Soldiers. This is a translation of the
Original Werwolf combat instruction manual. It gives osme interesting
insights into the German Spec-Ops mind.

The Eastern Front,1941-45,German Troops and the Barbarisation of Warfare
By:Omar Bartov

Great book that attempts to analyze the cause of the attrocities commited by
German Soldiers on the Eastern front.Analyzes the Soldiers, and the political
cause they were fighting for.

Gestapo:Instrument of Tyranny By:Edward Crankshaw

Gives the History of the Gestapo from its creation to its
destruction.Great for the background on the Gestapo, and perhaps for placing
some evil german necromancers.

Hitlers Samurai:The Waffen-SS in Action By:Bruce Quarrie

Another great book,by one of the Best authors concerning the SS.This is a
basic intro on the SS,filled with some excellent pictures, and written for
the average person, not a Military History Scholar.

Hitlers Teutonic Knights:SS Panzers in action By:Bruce Quarrie

This is an excellent book concerning the seven premiere SS Panzer
Divisions.Contains numerous pictures, and superbly written, one of the best
books on the SS Panzer Divisions.

Weapons of the Waffen-SS:From Small Arms to Tanks
By:Bruce Quarrie

Excellent resource on German Weapons of WWII,great pictures and
refrences. This should be a bible to those developing any WWII RPG.

The Waffen-SS By:Bernd Wegner

A rather dry,but useful book on the Organization,Ideology, and Function of
the Waffen-SS.

Hitlers Elite Guard at War:The Waffen-SS By:George H. Stein

Excellent general referance source for the Waffen-SS,no pictures, but
excellently written.Definately worth the price.Great starter book for the
RPGers.

The Black Angels:A History of the Waffen-SS By:Rupert Butler

Another basic general history. This one is written more like a novel, and
would be the best basic starter book on the Waffen-SS.The designers at
Pinnacle should definately should give this a read.

SS Hell on the Eastern Front:The Waffen-SS War in Russia 1941-1945
By:Chritopher Ailsby

Excellent reference for the Waffen-SS,in the Russian campaign.A definate
must read concerning the eastern front, and the Waffen-SS.Pinnacle designers
take note, definately read this before doing the Eastern front book.

Waffen-SS:Its Uniforms,Insignia,and Equipment 1938-1945
By:D.S.V. Fosten and R.J. Marrion

Great reference book, for Uniforms and small biographies of units.Excellent
for figuring out uniforms for SS Spec-Op units.

Hitlers Guard:The Story of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler 1933-45
By:James J. Weingartner

Divisional History of the 1st and Most famous Unit of the Waffen-SS.Hitlers
personal Guard, and first among the SS.This is the show unit, plus it has a
great combat record.Should be something special in the game.

Das Reich:The Military Role of the 2nd SS Division
By:James Lucas

Another great book by James Lucas, again one of the better authors of WWII
histories. This concerns the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich",another
premeire Waffen-SS division. This unit has an almost unequaled combat
record,but also a record for attrocities.Great book,and highly
recomended. This is another one that reads like a novel.

Soldiers of Destruction:The SS Death's Head Division,1933-1945
By:Charles W. Syndor Jr.

This is a great look into one of the more infamous SS divisions, the 3rd SS
Panzer Division "Totenkopf".Another of the premiere SS Panzer Divisions, with
an excellent fighting record. This is the Waffen-SS unit that guarded the
COncentration Camps. This unit should definately have some weird stuff from
the guys at pinnacle.

Blood and Honor:History of the 12th SS Panzer Division "Hitler Youth"
1943-1945
By:Craig W.H. Luther

Extremely well written book, concerning perhaps the best of the late war SS
Divisions. This unit had almost the best combat record of any Waffen-SS
division.Filled out by teenagers, this unit fought extremely well on the
Western Front. No expense was spared on this unit, and some of the best
officers to come out of the Waffen-SS,were members of this unit.

Fighting for Freedom:The Ukrainian Volunteer Division of the Waffen-SS
By:Richard Landwehr

An excelllent resource, for one of the non-German SS units.Though its history
was not as great as some of the others,it did fight to the best of its
abilities. This unit fought entirely on the Eastern Front, its history is good
reference to that theatre of the war.

Hope this Helps Some,

Lee Holstein
