[WW] re: CR/EL for Equipment

i believe your example about the spellcaster is slightly in error as a mage
canno "summon" a tank (but the point is a valuable one). I think, as a GM,
you are going to need to determine how easy an encounter becomes with the
aid of heavy equipment and what future effects it may cause. while my
current game has a party with an antitank specialist, i noted that
(althought deep behind german lines) the party seems eager to use their
bazooka on any target (aparently not concerned with their limited ammo
supply. so for them, though encounters may be incredibly easy as they blast
through all resistance, the war will become one of retreat soon as they
engage german armored units (am i rambling?).

if you believe the tank is adding an unfair ease, either lower the value of
the encounter OR maybe consider the tank part of the party for hte purposes
of dividing up exp. it may, in my opinion, be equal to from 3 to 5 party
members (thus, when dividing exp, it makes a big difference when dividing
between 6 PC's and dividing between 11 PC's (the initial 6 + 5 value of the
tank). on the other hand, you coudl balance things a little by equiping your
enemy with anittank weapontry. disable the tank once and they may slow down
how they use it.

just an idea...
