It was also a death trap!  The tanks were churned out quickly because
someone got the bright idea of riviting the thing together instead of solid
forms.  Shells that didn't penatrate the armor would still pop the rivits
which would fly around inside like shrapnel!  It supposedly could also
happen with a large enough concussion from a near miss!
