[WW] Lost and Found

An eerie story from the Associated Press from November 13th:

"WWII pilot laid to rest, 57 years after his death

Springfield, Mo. -- Nearly six decades since his World War II plane went
down in France, Lt. William Patton Jr. has been laid to rest.

Patton, a native of rural Stark City in southwest Missouri, was 27 when
the P-51 Mustang he was flying crashed in a French bog as he returned
from a mission Jan. 15, 1945.

He was reported missing in action, and his family had always believed his
plane had gone down in the English Channel. His mother, father, two
brothers, and sister all died without knowing Patton's fate.

Then in February, a French farmer draining his field found a machine gun
and part of Patton's airplane. Patton's body later was recovered from
the wreckage, still in the airplane's cockpit and still in uniform."
