The primary goal is to connect two opposite sides of the board with your color of pieces. 2. The secondary goal is to control the most spaces in the central section of the board. The game ends when a player connects two opposite sides of the board, or when either player places his last piece on the board. If a player places his last piece, and neither player has connected opposite sides, the winner is the player who controls the most spaces in the central section of the board. If they both control the same number of spaces, the game is a tie. MovementThere are two types of movement: Adding a piece, and moving a piece.1. To add a piece, a player places a new piece on the board, with the following restrictions: a. No part of the piece may be in the central section of the board. b. All parts of the piece must be placed in empty spaces. (The bottom level of the board.) The notation for adding a piece is to specify the 3 spaces occupied by the piece, with the Pnct first. For example: d3,d4,e4 (Triangle with Pnct at D3) AR-L10L9K8 (Angle Right with Pnct at L10) C-C3,B2,D4 (Straight Center with Pnct at C3) 2. To move a piece, a player moves the Pnct of the piece in a straight line on the board. He may then rotate the piece around the Pnct. The piece may be moved into the central section or placed on top of other pieces. When moving on top of other pieces, the following restrictions apply: a. The Pnct must always rest on another piece of your own color. b. The end points must both rest on the same level. The T piece has no middle, so all three points must be on the same level. c. You may form a bridge, with the middle point over a lower level. When the SC and AM pieces form bridges, the Pnct (middle point) must be over another point of the same color; it may not be over an empty space. d. A piece may not move if any part of it in under another piece. For purposes of connection and control, only the top piece is considered for each space. The notation for moving a piece is to specify the Pnct of the moving piece, then the 3 spaces it moves to, Pnct first. For example: Td3-i8h7h8 (move Triangle Pnct from d3 to i8 and rotate) RL10-L11,L10,K9 (move Angle Right one space up) SCc3-c3b3d3 (rotate Straight Center without moving) CreditsPnct is copyrighted by Kris Burm, who has kindly given his permission to have it on this server. It is the last game to be published in Project Gipf. Sharkey is to blame for any bugs.
