Actually, it sounds more like creating a character, and then choosing
the "Huckster" package, which gives you access to certain "powers"...
Or choosing the "Blessed" package, and giving you access to certain
"powers"...
Or choosing the "Mad Scientist" package....
Sounds remarkably similar, really... Except that the packages are
smaller, and (it sounds like) you can have more of them.

If anything, it's more about choice than restriction; given the
above example it almost sounds like it has more choice, more
recombination, more variety than Deadlands.

Yep... trouble is, we've only heard the short description of it,
so much of our discussion is moot anyway...

Depending on how the packages are described, acquired, etc. they
could be far less restrictive than you give them credit...
(Not trying to be argumentative, trying to be open-minded..)
