RE: Wait, Erik! (was RE: [BNW] Hello - powers package concept)
Good point. But I will continue to constructively criticize as well as
congratulate.
The gameworld concept is great and I love it (I really hope Matt has the "3
Kennedy Despots" running fascist America. It's just too dang diabolical!
But, even if he doesn't it's still going to be a great gameworld).
It won't do Matt any good to hear only fawning praise. He should also hear
from us about aspects of the game which we are not excited about. I guess
I'll be the designated Devil's advocate.
It will also help if we come up with alternatives to his plans. I think
I'll start a thread on other ways to solve the powermonger players.

<<I don't want to disparage your ideas for the game, but the concept of
strict power packages will decrease the likelihood of me purchasing the
game. It sounds like a class-based system, not a powers-based system. >>
<<Actually, for a gameworld that emphasizes the quest for a return to
liberty and opposition to totalitarianism, this game design seems a bit
totalitarian and not at all liberating. ;-)>>
Don't lose faith yet, Erik! Trust in Matt--he shall not disappoint. Give
it time...then look at the hopeful Glory that will be Brave New World
when it arrives at the Holiest of Grand Gaming Conventions...GENCON!!!
I believe in Matt...he's done too many cool games to let ME down, so he
will deliever...
You hear me Matt? My necks out on the chopping block. DON'T LET ME DOWN!
:)
