RE: [BNW] New tricks
Hey folks... I'm new here so, but I've been running the game. I like it a
lot... it's nice to see some good discussion at hand.
I don't know if I like the trick or not. It's seems to much like a one
shot power and as heavy as it seems to be I would probably place some more
restrictions on it. It could take out even the toughest types, however it
would do next to nothing to the blaster. I think the concept is interesting,
the applications could be pretty cool, but the mechanics would be difficult
to work out. I think it would also unbalance things a bit. I think the
blaster needs to take some damage regardless of the roll. I must also
concur w/ a recent post in that the damage will occur with no armor
protection either internally or externally. Something else you must keep in
mind as well, is that if you build it, the gadgeteer and the bargainer will
come. I might throw it out at some NPC's to see how it works in my game.
I'll give some more input after I've played with it myself.
On another note, something I've introduced into my game are
"delta-drugs". Their are steroid, painkiller, and hallucinogens so far. The
steroids for example increase strength and speed, but become detrimental in
a short amount of time. If regs use them ,they get some of the benefits, but
the problems occur much quicker and get much nastier. I think I'm gonna take
this plot pretty far, I've got long term ideas, I just wanted to sound it
off... see what folks think.
I'm also building my older super team, "The Hippies": Rolling Stoner, Rock
& Roll Star, The Protestant, Rebel Rouser, and Daisy. Daisy I've got the
clearest vision of; she looks like Goldie Hawn from Laugh-In, in the little
bikinis and the flower paint, and she's a healer. Rock and Roll Star looks
like the lead singer of the Moody Blues from the early years in the crushed
velvet w/ the ruffled shirt. Rebel Rouser looks like James Best from some
old Andy Griffith episodes... the other two I'm still building on... I kinda
know, but not how to describe them.
Back to the original topic... I'll through out the new trick to my rules
lawyers and see what they think...and one more thing... this trick has got a
legitimate shot of destroying a Defender or a Tough in one swipe... pretty
heavy ...dude.
