[BNW] Game Session Saturday Night (kinda long)
I know that my DM is on this list, and has already
told you about the first adventure he ran us through. (A bus pulls up in front
of a building, takes hostages. There is an explosion in the subway.
We have to go into the building to try to save hostages.) So, I will skip the
rest of the details of the first adventure, except to say that all of us Delta's
were incarcerated after the mission.
We started this weeks mission by
making new characters. We have a Covenant (myself), a Flyer, a Radioactive
man, and a Charger ( I think). We had all been members of a covert
Military group during the War, and had gone AWOL. We had all assumed new
identities, new locations, and new lifes. Our Boss from the military found
us one by one, and told us of a problem. McBain, who now goes just as
Bain, had stolen files that prove our existance and our connection with the
military in a demolition attempt at a building in Crescent City. The team
gets together once more, and has to interview the Delta's who were arrested in
the last game session. (YES, we had to interview our old characters)
Fortunatly, everyone did a good job of not letting player knowledge in the game,
and even gave the new chartacters some false answers that were believed!
The road lead us to an old safehouse in Alaska that we had used before. My
Covenant used Divine Inspiration in a library early in the campaign to find out
where Bain was, and a magazine USA Today caught his eye. Was this a
meaning that he would leave the US??
We flew to Alaska and found the
old safehouse. Bain had a large base built on top of the mountain.
We had access to some good weaponry, including a couple of sniper rifles, a
couple of machine guns, and a choice of smoke or regular grenades. The
recconisince (sp?) led us to find that the base was guarded from 5 different
guard towers, had two satallite dishes, and was surrounded by electric
fence. We decided to first take out the satallite dishes. SO, we
sent the Flyer up with a sniper rifle, had him go up and take a shot at the
dishes control box. BINGO! He took it out, when that happened, all
the guards dropped. (Later, upon examination, my Covenant found out they were
deaders and controlled by one of the satallite dishes.) Radioactive man
shot a blast through the fence, and we all ran in near the garage. After a
short tussel with a couple of guard dogs, we entered an unknown building.
After assaulting the receptionist, we discoverd some lab techs. One lead
us to some guards which we dispatched of, while the Covenant took a wound to the
chest. We grab the lab tech and once again ask him where Bane is. HE
doesn't know, so we asked where the head researcher was. (a Gadgeteer
perhaps??). He gives the Covenant a keycard and says down the
elevator. WE take the elevator down, and as it opens up, we immediatly get
into fights with the workers. The Covenant uses his Martial Arts skill
deftly, the Radioactive man and the Charger both fire with their weapons.
The flyer (who is still outside!) is working on keeping the helicopter from
taking off. The Covenant grabs one of the helmets from a dead guy,
noticing that there is a radio receiver in them. HE listens for a minute,
and hears them talk about "getting it back on line in 2". The doors above
the area they are in open, and we notice now the two rockets that are in the far
side. They are being filled with chemical weapons. The covenant
looks up to the sky and starts praying. (for a full three rounds, I held
my arms in the air and muttered. Mulitiple times the DM asked what I was
doing, but I ignored him.) Finally, just as the third round comes about,
he recognizes that I am calling the Wrath of God down on the Rockets to (in the
Covenants mind) stop them from hurting innocent people. Our Boss (Maximus
Quick) who had some Time abilities also, stopped time in a bubble long enough to
get the other party members out of the area. I was stuck there and
exploded along with the rockets. However, the Covenent had bought an Alpha
trick called Ressurection (which, we decided, is actually that I am just about
ready to die, I call God one last time, and he lets me live because my duty has
not been performed. At any time though (possibly determined by a die roll)
my time is really done.)
While the Covenant is out and working on
recovering, the rest of the team finds the Gadgeteer who is now in his Powered
Armor, and an Elementalist (I think) that was controlling the weather and making
it snow and the wind very powerful. By this time, the satallite was also
back on line and the deadders where walking towards them. The Covenant
made it back out, though brutally injured and feeling bad, he finds the rest of
the team. As the Deadders approach, the Covenant grabs two Grenades, and
tosses the grenades at the deadders, taking out a number of them. The rest
are dispatched of then. The team, after dispensing of the occuping force,
find some papers in an office, involving a shipment out of the country in two
days. WE finished while being just ready to leave to go to the
dock...
