[BNW] Rules Question for List
Dear List Members:
I am hoping for some feedback from all of you on the list regarding the following rule questions:
1: It states in the basic book that a Healer "lays her hands on a sick or injured person" and "the hero puts her hands on the victim's injuries". It then goes on to state that "A healer can try to help as many people as she can reach". In all cases the healing is limited to touch and may only be attempted once per day, per person. Notice it never actually states that the Healer may heal him/herself; only others are cited in the above examples. The fact that the Healer is never actually drained by the healing or is never required to make a stun check of any kind, coupled with the fact that a person may only be healed once in a given day would suggest that the healing energy is coming from the patients themselves. Thus the Healer is merely acting as a catalyst - i.e. a substance which promotes a change but is itself not affected or used up in the process. Thus one must wonder, could a Healer actually heal him/herself? P!
erhaps an abstract question but one of my players runs a Healer and thus the question is of some import to her. Naturally, I could just make a ruling in the matter but I would much rather hear the thoughts and speculations of others on the subject than to simply cast out an arbitrary ruling.
2: Regarding the "Savage" flaw found in the basic book, one will find that there is no mechanism in place to determine the length of time that a person will remain in a savage state. This has become somewhat pressing as one of my players has opted to run a Werebear. And while he has a high Spirit score, there are those unfortunate lapses where he is known to run amok.
Any and all feedback in regards to the above will be most appreciated.
Many thanks,
