It came into my mind as well, since the books state that NY is a DMZ in the
BNW universe. Imagine things similar to this on a weekly (or more often)
basis. Then wrap your brain around this. In 1976 (BNW Universe) the entire
CITY of Chicago went away. We're reacting like this now over the deaths of
anywhere from 20,000 - 50,000 people and several buildings. Multiply by the
factor of Chi-town. Now you know why K is still in power.
