This definitely sounds reasonable.  One of my players did this.  Of course,
the baconhammer died at the hands of some banditos before he could find much
out, but he's looking to making a new one- this one with a piston arm that
he got in Salt Lake City after being tricked into doing some Skullchucker
and subsequently having his arm accidentally sliced off.  This should be
another interesting Mountie...
