Re: [DL] Random questions...

Answers to yer intriguing questions...

1) Depends on the area. My campaign started in Kansas
and a journey to Abilene (from a fictitious town
called Sweetwater) took a week or so on horseback, but
the Posse were frequently stopping to check a trail
they were following... I would say a week MINIMUM in
many areas, getting longer the further west you go.
They also traveled to Boston from Denver using
stagecoach and train. I skipped to 2 months down the
line...

2) Depends on the size and location of the town (and
whether or not there are -intentions- to build a rail
line through it. Sweetwater didn't have a railroad-
the Posse had to catch a train from Abilene. Abilene
in my game has a BRRR line running through it to
Dodge, which has one of them Northern lines as well.
Denver has at least three rail companies active in it
(maybe 4).

3) This is a tough one, and I know very little about
telegraph. In my game, telegraph is usually a by-word
for Plot Device...

4) I play the two sides fairly neutrally, and two of
my posse members fought on opposing sides (this was
before the campaign started). Oddly enough these two
characters have the strongest bond (pity they aren't
heroic). The war doesn't really have an impact on my
game other than as a plot device, as I am at a
complete loss as to how to utilise it...

5) The Pinkertons and Rangers don't have an active
impact on my game, beyond supplying one of my Posse
members with missions. It is a similar situation to
the above answer, but I am more likely to utilise
these groups in my campaign later on.

Hope this helps some. Later, Munch-Wolf!
