Nope. BG2 is still second edition. To allow characters to continue through
the whole game, BG3 will also still be second edition. The upcoming Pools of
Radiance remake and Neverwinter Nights will both be third edition rules
however.

AC is slightly different now, it counts upwards from ten rather than
downwards from ten. There is no such concept as thac0 (lets see.. my THAC0
is 6, so to hit ac -2 I need to roll 8) instead you just roll a die, add
your attack bonus, and if you roll over their AC you hit them. MUCH easier!
