RE: [DL] Becoming blessed.

I was going to consider myself properly chastised, endeavor to not repeat my
mistake, and not contribute to digest-bloating thread continuance. But I
won't keep quiet while being vilified (Gawd that's an awful word, but my
brain is in ten-cent word mode from proofing license agreements).

First, while you can't control what your company adds to your e-mail, you
are responsible for it showing up on the list. You can either not post from
work, or accept the fact that your .sig is effectively 20+ lines long, since
that's the .sig that we all see. My work .sig is pretty gnarly too, but I
specifically avoid using it because, well, I have that option, and the list
doesn't need to see it. You may not have that option, most people don't, so
even when I was a digest subscriber work-related .sigs didn't bother me.

Second, I did not include the entire thread out of "pure laziness." My mail
window happened to display just the upper lines of the message I was
responding to. I didn't notice the scroll bar, and mistakenly included
unnecessary text. Having just recently switched from digest-mode of the
list, I understand the issues involved. Having participated in threads on
other lists, newsgroups, messageboards, etc, I understand the reasons and
benefits of snipping some text out. Again, having just switched from digest
mode, I made a simple mistake born of lack of recent practice. Not of
laziness.

If you wish to continue to harangue me, please do it via private e-mail so I
can "close and delete the message." Like you say, digest subscribers don't
have that ability. And I apologize to anyone that feels this exchange
should have been taken to private e-mail starting with this message.
