Re: [DL] speed loading question, etc.

For those of you who want a bit more accuracy with their weapons,
Knuckleduster put out a generic old west weapons book called The
Knuckleduster Firearms Shop (0-9667046-2-2) for $20.
Here's the description of a weapon at random

------------------------------

Smith & Wesson Pocket, Model No. 2

Smith & Wesson controlled the patent for the concept of loading a
metallic shell from the breech of a revolver cylinder, stifling the
competition for 14 years. Here's one of their early models.

Issued: 1864
Caliber and Action: .32 rim-fire, five-shot, single-action
Damage: Light
Drawing Speed: Good
Rate of Fire: Fair
Concealment: Good
Cost: $18
Ranges
Close: 10 yds.
Medium: 20 yds.
Long: 60 yds.
Maximum Effective: 120 yds.

Reload: The revolver cracks open forward, like a shotgun. The empties, if
they don't jam, are loosened automatically; simply dump them out with a
flick of the wrist. This takes the first 20 seconds (4 turns). Since the
cylinder doesn't need to be rotated for each round, reload at the rate of
two shells every five seconds 12 per turn).
Reliability: Mediocre
Quirks: Ammunition misfire, jammed empty shell, accidental discharge.

The larger the German body, the smaller the German bathing suit and the
louder the German voice issuing
German demands and German orders to everybody who doesn't speak German. For
this, and several other
reasons, Germany is known as 'the land where Israelis learned their manners'.
