RE: [DL] Campaign Idea -- Suggestions?

The only thing I have the brain-power to add right now is this: if your
town becomes a population center of any size, then in the Last War it would
be a target of a city-bustin' bomb. Havin' the city be nothing but rubble
makes option #1 less likely, but option #2 gets interesting. Say that the
descendants of one or more of the town founders still have residence in the
city up until the Last War. They got lucky and were out of town when the
bombs fell and destroyed everything the family had built. The descendants
go back to the Weird West to try to keep the town from growing to
"target-size". I think this would be kinda interesting to flesh out.

Option #1 might still work too, if the descendants pull the PCs to the
future to help rebuild a new town, just outside the zone of destruction that
was the city. The appeal of this one depends on your game group -- it is
kinda close to just redo-ing the first part of your campaign all over again
(lets settle a new town!) But with the HOE elements mixed in it might make
your group quite happy.
