RE: [DL] another puzzler [SPOILERS, somewhat urgent]
SPOILER SPACE
O.K., I'm preparing to run Ghost Busters tomorrow or Friday, and I'm
creating some pregen characters for it. One of them is a Metal Mage
named
Cyrus who specializes in Cryptology (which is how he happened upon
the hexes
in the 1876 S&R catalog). I gave him A Glass Darkly (from
Hexarcana) and I
thought of something. Suppose someone is using the Black Magic
spell Judas.
If a Cyrus uses A Glass Darkly and views a scene in whcih the
Judased person
appears, do they see the Judased image or the person as they
actually are?
I'm thinking this could become quite important

I hope it isn't too late, I couldn't check my books sooner.
I'd think the hex doesn't foil the judas effect. And since the glass
image isn't very accurate in the first place (it says in the text you
couldn't identify a murderer's face appearing in it), I'm don't think the
scrutinize roll to detect the judas illusion could be attempted either.
Then again, the 'a glass darkly' hex effect doesn't come from a
photographic source, but rather a psychic one, so perhaps the black magician
(esp. the one in GB) could appear like a shadowy/changing/distorded figure
in the glass. Not revealing the nature or even gender of the suspect, it
could yet be a first hint, giving way to interpretation (for example, in the
Gomorra chapter, it could keep the posse suspecting Nicodemus).
Just my thoughts,
