Re: [DL] Problems with Voodooist

Haven't had a Voodooist in my game yet, nor have I played one (not even on
TV), so my opinions are based solely on just reading the books...

I'm under the impression that Voodoo just isn't like Hucksterin', and isn't
supposed to be as "powerful." They do their magic before combat, or after.
Like you say, they make interesting characters -- I think they were meant to
have lots and lots of "flavour" but not be combat machines. A Voodooist
gets powerful by having lots of role-played contacts, any number of which
might be under the voodoo influence of the character (which is the type of
thing they are good at, as opposed to fightin' spells), and the Voodooist
can get help or such from their contacts.

Or put another way, Hucksters are loud, flashy, and obvious using many of
their spells. Voodooist spells manifest more subtly. There can be power in
subtlety.
