Having dabbled in running a gaming store, I'd say keep buying from the site for now.  Basically, the store pays the distributor between 50-60% of what they're selling for, meaning that the company sells it to the distributor for well under 1/2 cover price.  On sheer approximation, that's an additional $10 profit for the company per book.  

Way I see it, the fans that aren't on this list will keep the stores happy.  When the company is once again in better standing financially, we should all do ALL our shopping at the stores so it looks like Deadlands' popularity surged and is worth stocking.  So the company makes money direct now, when they need it, then through distributors when they're financially better off.

Just my $.02, but it sounds like a good marketing plan to me...
