The Mojave Rattler is an animal. Attemping to overawe it is no different than
attempting to overawe a lion or tiger. IT's just not happening. The type of
intelligence Rattlers have is Problem solving intelligence- Think
Velociraptors, from Jurassic Park. If, per se, you could shoot a rattler with
a steam Cannon, and do it 5d20, it would learn that cannons can hurt it, and
then would be "Afraid" of them- but not Guts check afraid. It would just
realize- "hey, that thing can hurt me- I oughta go away."
