I don't know about the theories, but I doubt that the header to that
section was a coincidence.  It said that this being is singular, more
powerful than the Reckoners, and would be about 100 times as bad news for
the world if it were set free, just in case any posse got ideas in their
heads.
Probably, whatever is there is the thing that inspired all those
religions to come up with myths about the One Great Evil Guy,  though,
not that it's literally the Judeo-Christian devil.
